What Is the Best Way to Get Rid of Horse Tail Weed?

What is the best way to get rid of the horse tail weed in our vegetable garden? It seems to have taken over and is crowding out the good plants. Thank you!

Horsetail weeds. Cut these prehistoric weeds down to the ground, then cut again. Then keep mowing or weed whacking the area until you starve out the roots. It takes 4 or 5 cuttings to weaken them. Do not try to pull horsetail as underground roots will only be stimulated to grow back. Herbicides do not work well on their hollow stems. Constant cutting is the most practical control - either that or move to a new home with no horsetail weeds.  Keep growing - but not horsetail weeds, Marianne Binetti
