How to Design and Install a Lazy Garden Landscape

Marianne,
Thank you so much for the opportunity to ask you a question!
For financial reasons, My husband and I will be downsizing from big house/small yard to small house/huge yard – mobile home on 1.3 acres.
Currently I care for our productive raised bed garden, Love it ❤️, minimal lawn care. Due to increasing mobility issues we need to design our new yard with minimal maintenance in mind. It’s important to me to incorporate the native plants already there.my questions:
How can I find someone to design (maybe install) a “lazy landscape “? Is there anyone you know that does a sort of “natural” landscape (if that’s even a thing)? I’ve tried to research online but haven’t found anyone.
We are on a limited budget but should be able to afford some services. How do I get an estimate for costs of having this plan created, etc?
Thank you very much for your time and any advice you can give,
Bonny Brinkley

Welcome to your new landscape and what a great attitude you have about continuing to garden. One of the best bargains for landscape help is to visit a Master Gardener clinic in your area. The Master Gardeners charge nothing to answer your design questions and many are very knowledgeable about the native plants and how to use them in the landscape. You can also contact local nurseries that sell native plants. They often offer designing advice to home owners that purchase native plant material from them. Finally, visit your local library for books on landscape design and native plants. You can do a great design yourself with just a bit of education and inspiration. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
