There are many varieties of figs so first make sure you have one that is right for your climate. The best time to fertilize Is when you start to see signs of new growth in the spring. Then use a balanced plant food such as slow release Osmocote Plus. Apply at the rates listed on the package. A slow release plant food is recommended for figs.
