Marianne's Response

Petunias

do not have luck with growing petunias. I’ve asked for advice from many people who have wonderful petunias but nothing has worked for me. they get yellow and leggy and so look pitiful. I can grow purple wave petunias. I would like to hear your advice. I live in southwest Kansas where we have to water almost every day in the hot summer months.
Thanks,

Marianne's Response

Hi Rosanna and don't worry I think there is a clue to your problem with petunias. The yellow leaves mean too much or too little water or lack of nutrients. They need good drainage so if you have pots with poor drainage or grow in damp soil this could explain the yellow leaves. They also need feeding so try Osmocote  mixed into the soil at planting time. They also will grow leggy with lack of sunshine. Petunias love sunshine. Be sure to buy young plants that are not root bound and do not place outside until all danger of frost is past. This could be your year, Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
