Marianne's Response

The 3 Big Rosebushes Have Kept on Ticking. What Now?

Those three struggling rosebushes I asked you about have all survived. The one with more sun blossomed quite a bit. The other two began growing leaves 10 days ago. I’d like to move the two to a sunnier, drier area. How long should I wait? Today starts a stretch of lows in the 40s and 50s (with one night in the high 30s).

Marianne's Response

It is fine to move roses while they are dormant in late fall, winter or early spring. Cold weather helps them sleep through the transplant operation. Wait a few more weeks at least until the winter weather arrives or do the dirty deed in February. Just don't make the move when the ground is frozen. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
