No, the fall season is not a good time to plant or transplant asparagus. The best time is early spring such as 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost and all through the spring months up until when the weather becomes warm and dry in your area.  So glad you asked - however there are always exceptions and sometimes plants will survive a transplant even if it is the wrong time of year.
