How to harvest Bee’s Friend seeds

How do I harvest Bee’s Friend (Phacelia tanacetifolia) seeds? I want to use the seeds to plant more in other places next year.

Most flower seeds can be harvested in late summer after the flowers fade. A paper bag is a good way to collect the seed pods while they are still on the plant. Just snip and let them fall into the bag. Next, keep the paper bag in a dry warm spot so the seed pod can crack open and the seeds will be inside the bag. Once the seeds are out you can store them in air tight glass jars or a paper envelope making sure they are kept dry until planting time next spring. Keep Growing, Marianne Binetti
