Can I grow broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts in containers and what size should I use.

Yes, you can grow just about any edible in a container and cole crops such as broccoli and cauliflower need space so pick a large pot such as a half barrel or even an old bathtub with good drainage. The roots like to be cool so a container at least 24 inches deep or more. Good drainage, full sun and an all purpose plant food such as Osmocote Plus will ensure a great crop. One more tip: To keep out the green cabbage worms that love cole crops cover the young plants with Reemay or agricultural fleece. This will prevent the white butterflies from landing on the foliage and depositing eggs.  Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
