Marianne's Response

Desert Rose

I have 2 Desert Rose Plants that have no leaves, yet the plant seems to be still alive, as the steams are still green and firm. What is wrong and is there anything I can do to save them, they have been this way for months.

Marianne's Response

If you mean the succulent desert rose or Adenium this is a plant from Africa used as a houseplant and it needs warmth and sunshine to sprout leaves. Night temps above 50 degrees is best. I would give the plant more time and warmth and I suspect it will leaf out soon. There are other plants such as potentilla with the common name desert rose. Not sure which type you mean. Perhaps if you sent a photo I could be more accurate. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
